What is L-Carnitine
L-Carnitine is an important amino acid produced by the body to turn fat
into energy. Several different amino acids and vitamins are needed to produce
Carnitine including Lysine, Vitamin B6, Iron, Vitamin C, Niacin and Methionine.
If the body has a deficiency in any one of these substances, then the body
will be unable to produce the amount of Carnitine it needs.
There are several different types of Carnitine but regular supplementation
of L-Carnitine has been found to have the most health benefits. What
can L-Carnitine do for me?
-
L-Carnitine may be able to enhance physical performance by improving cardiovascular
function and turning fat into energy more effectively.
-
Supplemental L-Carnitine may benefit anyone suffering from or at risk
of heart disease. Scientific studies have observed that low levels of
L-Carnitine can be found in most patients with congestive heart disease.
These studies have also shown that supplementation of L-Carnitine improves
heart function and reduces symptoms associated with Angina.
-
As L-Carnitine helps the body burn up fats, it prevents high cholesterol
levels.
-
Studies show L-Carnitine to be vital for healthy sperm cells.
-
Many diabetics suffer from nerve damage and L-Carnitine may help reduce
the pain caused by this illness.
-
Leg pain when walking can be caused by a lack of oxygen rich blood to
muscle, leading to a build up of lactic acid. This is often due to a fatty
build up in arteries, which then become narrowed, restricting blood flow.
Supplementation with L-Carnitine may help reduce symptoms and increase
walking distance by up to 75%.
-
L-Carnitine supplementation can increase the levels of important blood
lipids often lost through dialysis.
-
Vegetarians and vegans could also benefit from taking L-Carnitine, as
fruit, vegetables, grains and pulses are all low in this important amino
acid.
How do I take L-Carnitine
